Made to be kept.
We started as a repair bench. We became a watch house because we wanted to sell only the watches we’d be proud to service for decades.
Every watch passes across our bench.
Before a watch is listed on The Time, one of our watchmakers opens it, checks the movement on a timing machine and assesses the finishing under a loupe. If it doesn’t meet our standard, we don’t sell it — however good the photographs look.
When your order ships, the watch is regulated again, cleaned, and packed by hand in our New York atelier. It’s slow. It’s also why our return rate is under two percent.
Three things we believe
Quality over quantity
A small, considered catalog beats an endless one. We carry fewer than forty watches at a time.
Honest pricing
No inflated “was” prices. When a watch is on sale, the discount is real and the reason is simple.
Service for life
Straps, regulation, servicing and advice for as long as you own the watch — whoever you bought it from.
Two decades at the bench
A two-person repair workshop opens on Mercer Street.
We begin sourcing directly from independent makers in Switzerland and Japan.
The Aurel Atelier house collection launches with a single dress watch.
Nine partner houses, one workshop and clients in eighteen countries.
